Food courts are convenient and popular hangout places for mall goers. It is a one stop arrangement for a wide variety of food. This time for our review we picked one such place at R City Mall, Ghatkopar. Sizzling China was our choice as we were bored of the generic fast food chains.
At the location, the place stands out with its name written in vibrant red and black.
From a long list of items we picked, Roasted Chili Potatoes (Rs. 162). They were one of the best potatoes we must have had. The crisp fries were tossed in a spicy tangy sauce, spring onions, chili and garlic. With the first bite itself you will experience a punch of flavours on your palate . If you work in and around this vicinity this sure can be a great appetizer to your lunch.
We love momos, and not ordering them at an Asian food joint is a crime. The Chicken Momos (Rs. 133) were luscious, full of juicy minced chicken and paired well with the Schezwan chutney. They were handmade to perfection, probably why it took a while for them to be served.
Lastly, we decided on the Manchurian Sizzler (Rs.281) which looked unbelievably appetizing on display. It consisted of fried rice, Vegetable and Paneer Manchurian with gravy, and was served on cabbage leaves (which I love to nibble on at the end when they are charred) and topped with those crispy french fries. The paneer was chewy and well avoidable. However the Manchurian balls were soft albeit a tad bit salty. All the elements on the hotplate went well together. I must say the quantity was massive and more than sufficient for two which made it quite an economical choice.
Looking for a perfect end to a day of shopping at the mall? We recommend you skip the McDonalds and Taco Bells of the food court and head right to Sizzling China for a mouth watering and wholesome meal. As for me, I wouldn’t mind traveling there only for the Roasted Chili Potatoes.
Meal For Two: Rs.600/- (approx.)
Final Verdict: Definitely worth a try.
